Buckingham Palace is the official London residence of the British Monarchy and the focal point of many Royal celebrations. In Summer, the state rooms are open to visit and throughout the year you can watch the famous Changing of the Guard.

There is an outstanding array of museums and art galleries in the capital, from the British Museum and the V&A to the Tate Modern Art Gallery and London Transport Museum. Lose yourself for an afternoon wandering one of these fascinating establishments.

Tower of London

The Tower of London is one of the city’s most iconic buildings, guarded by the famous “Beefeaters”. The exhibitions inside delve into over 1000 years of a dark and bloody history and a visit offers the chance to see the spectacular Crown Jewels.

Parks and green spaces

There are many delightful parks in which to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and enjoy nature. Wander through these green spaces perhaps taking a boat ride in Hyde Park, spotting deer in Richmond Park or admiring the Peter Pan Statue in Kensington Gardens.

River Thames

For a different view of the city take a cruise on the winding River Thames. Pass under London’s famous bridges and admire attractions such as the London Eye or Westminster from the water.

Wandering on foot, a stroll along the Southbank takes you past historic pubs, lively restaurants, market stalls and street performers.

Day 1: Arrive in London

Relax and enjoy your first evening in the UK’s wonderful capital city. You will be spoilt for choice for dinner tonight. London has an incredible restaurant scene with choices from every cuisine in the world and more than 50 Michelin starred restaurants. Wander the city, find your bearings and drink in the energetic atmosphere.
Overnight – London

Day 2: London Sightseeing

Today we would recommend getting acquainted with the city on a hop-on, hop-off tour of the main attractions. You could choose to alight at the Tower of London, Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament or Trafalgar Square and many more attractions besides. For those who prefer to go on foot, a historic walking tour is another excellent choice.

In the evening you could book tickets to a show in London’s spectacular West End for an unforgettable night of entertainment.

Day 3: London Sightseeing

For a more extensive view of this renowned capital, why not take a cruise along the River Thames, a circuit on the London Eye or a trip up the dizzying heights of the Shard, to enjoy stunning views of London’s well-known skyline. St Paul’s Cathedral and Buckingham Palace are two more must-see attractions in an endless list of possibilities.

If you would prefer to head inside, book in for a delicious afternoon tea at one of London’s luxurious hotels.

Day 4: London Sightseeing

Delve further into British culture today with a visit to one of the city’s museums or art galleries. You are spoilt for choice with the British Museum, V&A, Natural History Museum, Tate Britain and Tate Modern all on your doorstep.

Take a wander along the banks of the River Thames and stop in at a historic pub, or head into one of the London Parks to bask in nature and enjoy some fresh air.

Day 5: Depart London

Before departing today you could head for a spot of retail therapy on Oxford Street, the world’s biggest high street. Covent Garden is another excellent spot for browsing and nearby, the seven streets of Seven Dials connect Covent Garden and Soho through an array of life-style shops and independent eateries.

After a final morning exploring, you will depart London as your escape draws to an end.
